I'm not a big political follower (my cousin has a blog about that-if interested let me know). Yet this election had so many groundbreaking firsts-it was very interesting to keep up with. I have friends with strong views for/against/about the new president. My husband even joked yesterday, "Tomorrow everything will be alright because we'll have a new president!". This morning the kids and I plan to watch the ceremony and they have been excited about the newness of all this (this is the 1st year they have been old enough to understand and follow the whole political process of electing government, especially a president). "What day?", "What time?", "What station?"...I have done the best I can (like I said-not big into politics) to ready them to watch, etc...
Yet as I was getting a shower this morning (deep thoughts often happen there), I began to think--What have I done to prepare and excite them to watch and wait for the return of Jesus. Have I been as purposeful and as intentional with those lessons? Do I ask- What day?, What time?
Lord, may I live my life that others may see and know Who I am waiting for.

THE PRINCESS HAS SPOKEN:
A song called "The Hiding Place" inspired me to write this:
HIDING PLACES
I believe everyone has some kind of hiding place. Your hiding place is a secret place because it is where you can be yourself. No matter where it is -that place is special. No matter if someone is lurking around it -knowing your there. It is still YOUR hiding place. A hiding place should be where you can relax, read, write, pray, or even talk on the phone. Best of all, God will always be at your hiding place; so you can talk laugh or cry. God also wants us to come to His hiding place--HIS OPEN ARMS!

I really love this picture (of the boys). I know it's over 2 years old. Yet, I find something cool in it--the bond of brothers. Since Terry and I were married there has been a 'tradition' at our Thanksgiving gathering for the boys to play football. The very first one-Dad even joined and 2 boys from the apartment complex we lived in. The 1st boy's name was Min and the 2nd-Min. So the Thanksgiving game has been forever named The Min and Min Classic. Yes, this year they played again and I watched and laughed as my husband, brother, and brother-in-law, & boys had a blast running up and down the field at my parents house. I'm not sure who won this year but I know one thing -- the bond of brothers is tight!

Encouraged by FACEBOOK?
Can one be encouraged by Facebook?
I must say--YES!
I have been on facebook for a very short time and been able to see what some high school & college friends have been up to. We so often hear about the horrible direction people, couples, families & churches are going (I agree they are). Yet, my heart has been so uplifted by the work God is doing in so many of my facebook friends. God 's not dead--HE IS ALIVE!!! and working in, through & around many lives.
Thank you to my facebook friends for your encouragement by serving the Lord with your lives. May He bless the churches, families, and places you touch...

Sick Of Day
OK-Our list of things we are sick of (we had a complaining morning)...
- No snow during winter
- Monday mornings
- Having to repeat myself everyday-"Stop being silly!", "Do your jobs!", "Did you finish your school work?", "Get a tissue!", "Stop dancing!", "Sit right on your chair!", etc...
- Laundry
- Cleaning the bathrooms
- Getting up
- School
- Not enough time, energy, or money
- Weekend only being 2 days
- Sharing a room
We had a few laughs putting this 'edited' list together and realized we have it pretty good! The Lord has truly blessed the Parrish Palace far above what we lack and His grace is sufficient.
Some things we are grateful for... (this list actually came easier and is in no order!)
- God
- dance
- Bible
- education
- transportation
- Christian family
- friends
- Judo
- house
- Music
- laughter
- Eagles winning!
- Steelers winning!
- answered prayer
- food--(chocolate!!!)
- red hair
- eternal life
- glasses
- toys and stuffed animals
- hard working husband
- spiritually growing kids
- Church
It's good to look at our blessings-it sure turned our attitudes around today!
